Don't get us wrong. Thank goodness Daycare is available. Without it, all of us working parents would be in trouble! But the average daycare leaves a lot to be desired...
Limited Hours
IF They’re open for Snow Days and Teacher Inservice, it’s frequently a challenge to pick your child up by their 5:00 or 6:00 closing time.
Super Costly
Daycare gets expensive. Sometimes it feels like it’d be easier to not even work; like all of your money just goes to childcare!
Questionable Safety
It seems every other day there’s a new story about a child getting neglected, hurt or worse while at their childcare. Without strict, structured safety measures, this is just a “normal” thing.
Plummeting Attitudes
Your child’s environment matters. If the place they’re spending hours and hours each week isn’t specifically focused on positive energy and understanding, your child’s behavior can start to be affected.
Sedentary Environment
It’s really, really tempting to just let children play video games, watch TV, tap around on iPads and watch movies all day. Sure, it keeps them “occupied”, but sure doesn’t keep them positively engaged. Then YOU have to deal with the excess energy when they come home.

Most childcare facilities (while we fully believe are doing their best) are limited in size and scope. Classrooms are tiny and poorly equipped, field trips, if they’re even an option, are run of the mill, and children do mostly the same thing, day after day.

Free Early Drop Off/Late Pickup
Not only do we have camps every time School is out (the only days we don’t have camps are Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day), but we offer early drop off as early as 7:00am and late pickup as late as 6:30pm for free.
Completely Affordable
Our Day Camps are surprisingly affordable (especially for what you’re getting!).
Highly Trained Staff
Our team members are committed professionals. They’re highly trained not only in CPR, First Aid and emergency procedures, but in how to interact with children in order to make sure that their time with us is awesome.
Increased Confidence
At Church’s Karate Academy, your child will make new friends, explore new activities, and be supported by our other awesome youth members. This inevitably leads to greater confidence and self esteem.
No Screens During Camp
We don’t allow any screen time (no TV. movies, video games, etc) at CKA Camps. Sounds a little crazy, we know, but kids are so engaged at our camps that they don’t even miss electronics. It’s pretty cool!
Growth-focused Activities
We have the luxury of a very large, well equipped facility. This allows us to help your child explore new activities and ideas during their time with us. Things like new sports or physical games, new intellectual challenges, and even new emotional skills to help them navigate the rest of their lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do we need to bring to a Day Camp?
You're responsible for a sack lunch, two snacks (we have two snack times, but not all children are hungry at both times) and a reusable water bottle. We also ask that you send your child in comfortable, closed toed shoes, and a jacket if it's cold/sunscreen+hat if it's sunny/hot - we may go outside to a nearby playground if weather permits! 🙂
Do you have a Schedule of your upcoming Camps?
My child is ADHD, ADD, has sensory issues, etc. Will they fit in?
Here's the deal - everyone's child has *something* that needs special consideration. Even the most well adjusted, "normal" kid is going to have a bad day and need an adult that is understanding and patient. Our purpose is to make every child feel welcomed, loved, appreciated, and special. That means your child, too. So yes, they'll fit in perfectly.
Can we see the facility before we sign up for a Camp?
We love the school's out camps here. My boys never complain to go, and always have fun.
